With over 14 years of global experience spanning technology, business, and sustainability, Dr. Kulshrestha has continually pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in biopolymers and circular economy solutions.
Currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Emirates Biotech, Dr. Kulshrestha leads strategic initiatives to accelerate the adoption and scaling of polylactic acid (PLA) polymers, a cornerstone of sustainable plastic alternatives. Her role has been critical in the design and engineering of a PLA manufacturing facility, showcasing her ability to blend scientific expertise with practical infrastructure execution.
Before joining Emirates Biotech, she held several high-impact roles that have left a lasting mark on the industry. As the Global Head of Polymer Applications & Recycling at Sulzer Chemtech, she expanded the company’s licensing portfolio to include biobased and advanced recycling technologies, helping position Sulzer as a leader in sustainable polymer solutions.
Her foundational work at NatureWorks, a pioneer in bioplastics, included developing innovative compostable materials, scaling process technologies, and driving product innovation across global markets. Her leadership has contributed to multiple patents, international collaborations, and the commercialization of cutting-edge green solutions.
Holding a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Dr. Kulshrestha’s impact is not limited to scientific innovation. She is known for her ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage intellectual property, and inspire organizational change — all while staying grounded in her values of mindfulness and nature appreciation.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she is a strong advocate for yoga, wellness, and environmental harmony, embodying a holistic approach to leadership that connects personal well-being with global sustainability.
